I would like to document a fiber network distributed across many sites. I would like to document the relations between patch panel - port patching - system. Is the are best practice way doing this?

Hello Bruno,
I think the best way would be to define a relation between the types you want to connect.
Something like this:
And in the content section of the relation define the additional information you want to document, e.g. Portname (incomming) and port name (outgoing):
After creating this relation, you can add a connection between two patch panel and document, which port on the incomming side and which on the outgoing one.
